Medical Breakthrough in Treatment for Mental Wellness

Breakthroughs in medical technology have created new possibilities for individuals seeking treatment for depression, anxiety and other mental health illnesses. One organization that is applying the results of these medical breakthroughs is Clear Mind Treatment Center – one of the few facilities in Southern California that offers NAD therapy along with a full spectrum of à  la carte services included in their holistic based wellness program. They offer at-home, in-office and concierge services with telemedicine options. As an adjunct to the much-desired NAD brain restoration/anti-aging therapy, the Center features a convenient and private outpatient detox, substance abuse/mental health and psychiatry service, all in conjunction with family or group therapy.

Q: What is the therapy that your clinic offers?

“We are committed to helping the severely depressed, suicidal and anyone who is interested in increasing their quality of life. Our center’s holistic approach addresses some of the most common mental health illnesses of modern times: anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, bipolar schizophrenia and other severe illnesses that often have negative life outcomes. Specifically, in addition to our mental health services, we also administer an IV drip with a compound of NAD.”

Q: How long does the NAD treatment for depression take?

“The therapy is minimal. It ranges from 3 to 10 days of IV hydration+NAD, depending on the severity or causes of treatment. Treatment is also paired with an NAD booster every 6 to 9 months. In just three days, ‘brain fogging’ starts clearing for someone who is just coming in for the added benefits. For someone suffering from severe depression and for addiction, there is a much bigger benefit from a 7 to 10-day regime partnered with mental health in-clinic therapy with our staff.”

Q: What is NAD?

“In 2013, David Sinclair, a geneticist at Harvard, published a high-profile paper showing that aging mice became more youthful when they were dosed with a NAD-enhancing compound. NAD+ is Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide – Co-Enzyme. Through the naturally occurring molecule NAD, which is a precursor enzyme in the Krebs cycle. The Krebs cycle in essence powers everything in your body. It’s the reason why you need oxygen. Studies have shown that having a high level of NAD in your body increases sirtuin activity, telomerase function (keeping high fidelity DNA replication) and inflammation reduction for the long term and staying young comes as well. NAD tends to decrease in level as you get older.”How does the NAD treatment support woman’s health? Q:

“According to the American Psychiatric Association. Twice as many women experience depression in their lifetime than men. Approximately 1 in 9 women have had at least one major depressive episode in the past year. NAD paired with therapy can significantly reduce treatment time, which is why is so appealing to everyone, especially women who are known to be giving their 110% to all aspects of their lives.”

Q: What inspired you to work in this type of medicine?

“I first went to law school wanting to make a direct impact on people’s lives. After graduating and spending several years as an attorney, I decided to follow in my father’s footsteps as a physician. I made it my mission to bring this knowledge to everyone who’s suffering from mental health issues or simply wants a better, healthier and longer life. Anti-aging is another area that I have been long been interested in well before medical school.”
