Blanca Reyes, a trailblazer in the industry, is a talented Latina musical artist known for her award-winning Contemporary Christian music. Through her musical creations, she shares her journey of self-discovery and growth, guided by her faith. From the earliest days of her spiritual journey, she found solace in the words of Joshua 1:9: “Do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” This scripture brought her immense peace. Blanca reflects, “As someone who dealt with a lot of fear and anxiety, this scripture always brought so much peace.”
One of the most significant lessons she is currently learning is that life happens for her, not to her. By entrusting her life to God’s control, she realizes that even in difficult times, there is a purpose, and everything she experiences contributes to her personal development. Blanca shares her evolving perspective, stating, “I am constantly growing and learning, and that pain also leads to hope and perseverance. That even in this, God can use it for my good.”
Looking back on her past, she openly recognizes the guidance she would offer her younger self. She would stress the significance of embracing a slower pace, as she had once attempted to hasten through life as a means of evading the pain resulting from childhood abuse. Blanca reflects on her journey, saying, “I dealt with abuse as a child and felt, in my teen years, the only way to escape that pain was to rush life so that I could enter into the next thing that could take my focus. But I wasn’t healing, I was actually learning to become numb, to disconnect with my voice and my intuition.”
She recognizes that being a person of influence does not necessitate perfection. While it is often believed that influential individuals must have their lives perfectly together, she understands that vulnerability and openness about her struggles can have a profound impact on others. Blanca expresses her perspective on this, sharing, “Some of my most influential moments have come from being vulnerable and real with my struggles. Reminding people through my music and my social platforms that they are not alone, and we have more in common than they may think.”
In her current season, she finds herself actively stretching herself to connect to her heart and creativity. Immersed in the crafting songs for her forthcoming album, a project that ignites a deep sense of excitement and eager anticipation within her. Blanca shared her enthusiasm for new projects, saying, “I’m starting the process of writing for my new album, which is always so exciting! I’ve also auditioned for a movie which is a childhood passion, so let’s see where God takes that!”
Her journey is one of embracing faith, finding peace, and overcoming adversity. Her understanding of life’s purpose has allowed her to navigate challenges with resilience and hope.
