There aren’t many people who deserve praise quite like Italian fashion icon Donatella Versace. After taking leadership from her late brother Gianni, Donatella has proven to be one of, if not the most quintessential designers of our time. From thunderous runway shows to exclusive designs, she is continuously living up to Gianni’s empire.

Collection after collection, Donatella never fails to deliver a bigger and better array of designs. More recently, she awed the world with her Spring-Summer 2021 “Under the Sea” inspired collection.
Set to look like alluring sea creatures, the models strutted down a sand-covered runway with damp hair and glowy skin. The mermaid-esque designs flaunted bright colors, unique patterns and many, many starfish. If there weren’t any more reasons to revere Donatella, her passion for sustainability was showcased through the use of recycled polyester and organic cotton.

The audience was strictly made up of Versace employees, all of whom provided a negative COVID-19 test before the show. The rest of the world was able to dive under the sea and take in the eccentric beauty through a virtual live stream.
What’s next for Donatella?
Donatella recently shared an Instagram post that included photos from her first show without her brother back in 1997. She concluded the caption by saying, “Next week I will be putting the finishing touches on my next collection and I can’t wait for you to see!” And we certainly can’t wait either, Donatella.
