Art is a powerful tool that ushers in change of thought. It shifts perspective and stirs something within you. Because of that, L.A. STYLE Magazine knew we had to offer an opportunity for artists to speak to the injustices of our nation. The Call Out to Creatives for Racial Justice was led by L.A. STYLE’s thoughtful Junior Creative Board of five individuals. The team brainstormed a path towards execution, and a social media campaign was soon launched to gather interest. Applicants were invited to submit illustrations, poems, photography and graphic design pieces. Throughout the following pages are those which have been selected to be featured with the issue themed, “Color is Beautiful.” The creative talent below spreads the message of racial justice to people of all ages, cultures, races and communities. The artwork pulls at the strings of yearning, desire and empowerment, and we hope the selected pieces fuel you toward greatness. We also want to thank the artists for their contributions to the cause, and know their artwork will speak multitudes.
