Kaia Gerber’s Book Club is the Perfect Form of Human Connection

Always using her platform for good, model Kaia Gerber shared with her Instagram followers that she would be starting up a virtual book club. “I was trying to think of easy ways we can stay connected (beyond just scrolling) and decided I’m gonna start a book club,” announced Kaia through an Instagram post.

Each week Kaia introduces a new book she is reading, and the following Friday she heads over to Instagram live with one of her friends to discuss the book. Some of these friends have included actress Phoebe Tonkin, novelist Kiley Reid and even her mom and model, Cindy Crawford.

The Instagram lives also give fellow book club members the chance to interact and offer their own insight on the readings as well. In such an unusual year, it has been refreshing to be able to connect with other human beings beyond a world of unpredictability.

Fortunately, Kaia’s book club has made its way into the new year. During her recent live talk about Joan Didion’s “Let Me Tell You What I Mean,” Kaia says that she will be turning the weekly book club into a monthly book club. The reason for this, Kaia wants to give readers more time to absorb the books. While we wait for Kaia to announce next month’s book, here are just some of the readings featured so far.
