About the donations: Shields for Families were recipients of the donated gifts in partnership with Media Aid Center. Irving Quinonez, Program Coordinator at Shields for Families shares, “It’s important for organizations such as LA Style Magazine to give back to agencies like ours because without these contributions we cannot continue to make a long-lasting impact in our community. The families we serve, some of them homeless and all of them below the federal poverty level, are able to obtain the support they need thanks to your contributions. Furthermore, your continuous support also shows that there are generous people out there that care about their wellbeing and that of the entire Los Angeles community. This event, in particular, was meaningful in that we were able to team up with the City of Compton and put something together for the community at a larger scale.”
