The highly anticipated L.A. STYLE Magazine Award Ceremony took place on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Grammy Museum’s Clive Davis Theatre in LA LIVE. L.A. STYLE Magazine, hosted the event to recognize entrepreneurs, celebrities, digital influencers, and industry leaders who have made a significant impact.
Renowned for being one of the first publications in Los Angeles in the ‘80s, L.A. STYLE’s chic editorials featured illustrious and sought-after Hollywood icons, including Naomi Campbell, Madonna, Elvis Presley, and Marilyn Monroe, among others. In 2015, Tricia Love Vargas took over as the owner and revitalized the magazine with a fresh global vision, aiming to blend fashion, luxury living, and philanthropy while sharing her faith with readers worldwide. Under Tricia Love’s leadership, L.A. STYLE Magazine has transformed into a modern multimedia company, connecting readers through authentic and inspiring stories. The publication focuses on industry leaders in business, fashion, and beauty, capturing personal triumphs and exploring the intersection of luxury living and social consciousness.
At the inaugural L.A. STYLE Magazine Award Ceremony, co-hosted by Pili Montilla and Elyse Murphy, the audience was treated to an unforgettable evening. The night showcased an awe-inspiring blend of thought-provoking speeches and captivating entertainment, paying tribute to the exceptional individuals at the forefront of their industries.
The event brought together powerful leaders who engaged in networking and cross-pollination. The evening was kicked by a special performance, led by comedic thought leader Michael Jr. in a set that left the audience entertained and inspired.
Guests enjoyed delectable hors d’oeuvres as well as ‘gourmet pasta on the go’ while seated in the theater during an entertainment segment, courtesy of Executive Chef and CEO, Daniel Arias of Casal Gasto. On each seat within the Clive Davis Theater, gift bags awaited guests, featuring the latest ‘Most Influential Issue’ along with gifts from Tribal Markers, Facial Lounge of Costa Mesa, and more. To complete the L.A. STYLE experience, they partnered with KLS Worldwide, which provided VIP chauffeur services for the stars who attended. Additionally, they teamed up with ALTO to offer special ride-share services for guests.
We Do It For, founded by Alexandra Ramos, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was nominated to be featured in the Most Influential 2023 Issue. The organization is recognized for its passion and mission to fundraise for several pillars of importance, including youth sports & education, mental health & physical wellness, gender & racial equality, and critical environmental issues. Mutli-faceted producer, actress, and writer Roselyn Sánchez, who received the Latina Powerhouse award, shared her thoughts on the event, describing it as “uplifting and phenomenal.” She shares:
“One of my favorites nights ever.
What an uplifting and phenomenal event last night by @lastylemagazine
Surrounded by incredible humans all making a difference and living a life of purpose and good intention.
To be honest, every single person awarded, in my case I got the Latina Powerhouse award, every single one was an incredible treat to watch and listen to. Words of wisdom, words fully blessed by a higher power, stories that will make you cry and rejoice all at the same time.
It was powerful, meaningful and disruptive.
We all need that sometimes, good disruption. Thought provoking inspiration… a push to make you believe and take risks. All with God and your angels right by your side.
Thanks Tricia Love Vargas for such an inspirational night.”
The attendees took a moment to honor Candace Lightner, the founder of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and she was presented with the L.A. STYLE Impact Award. Lightner and MADD played a key role in changing the course of America, to be against drunk and distracted driving and contributing to changing legislation to increase the drinking age to 21.
