New York Fashion Week has returned and better than before. Fashion designers geared up with astonishing presentations that showcased the best in fashion for the spring and summer wear of 2022.
This was the first New York Fashion week since February 2020. To enrich the vibe of the events, designers used city elements from New York, such as skylines and city lights as complementary embellishments to the runway looks. Although many well-known names were missing from the event this year, there was open room for emerging brands and designers to make their mark.
Christian Siriano’s stand on size inclusivity was a highlight on day one, starting and closing his show with plus-size model Precious Lee. Tory Burch featured the value of power by showcasing women wearing suits on the runway. Additionally, entertainment, aesthetics and sustainability were the main factors in the Collina Strada show. These designers along with others, used their inspiration and personal experiences to bring life and meaning into fashion.
Despite attendance decreasing due to the pandemic, lights and glamour had an uprise, bringing colors, style and inspiration during these dark times. As we move on to fashion week in London, Milan and Paris, here is a glance inside some featured designer runway looks from New York Fashion Week 2021.
