Old Town Pasadena Flavorful Vegan Spots You Can’t Miss

Pasadena pizza

Old Town Pasadena, located about twenty-minutes from Los Angeles, is a vibrant town full of authentic experiences and delicious vegan food. Shopping and entertainment such as the Norton Simon Museum of Art and the Rose Bowl are what make Old Town Pasadena stand out.

There is one variant that will attract foodies: the selection of vegan restaurants. Although veganism has been around for a few years now, many restaurants incorporate a few vegan-friendly dishes into their menu. This is usually done by substituting or removing the non-vegan ingredients.

Let’s Talk Vegan!

Veganism gets a bad reputation for being too restrictive. Avoiding animal and animal byproducts can be tricky, especially when dining out.

While veganism is a healthy choice, it can be intimidating to look for restaurants when traveling out of town or state. You will not have this issue when you visit Old Town Pasadena as they have some great vegan restaurants.

Whether you are looking for a sit-down restaurant or a quick snack, these restaurants will surely make your mouth water.

Sage Plant Bistro and Brewery

Sage Plant Based Bistro and Brewery is a locally sourced vegan eatery. They offer pizza, tacos, salads and soups –all completely vegan. Chef Mollie Engelhart created this wonderful restaurant looking to make vegan dishes without sacrificing any of the taste of traditional dishes.

At this point, you are probably wondering how in the world they run a brewery at a vegan restaurant. Sage offers a wide variety of wines, beers and house craft brews. Most of their craft brews are completely vegan and their on-tap beers have so little gluten that it can not be detected.

The Pizza Plant

The Pizza Plant is where pizza lovers meet veganism. Their motto is We Grow Pizza. If you live away from Old Town Pasadena, The Pizza Plant has you covered with nationwide delivery.

Their pizzas are also available for purchase at stores like Whole Foods and Besties Vegan Paradise. Their organic ingredients are USDA certified and 100% plant-based. In addition, their menu is seasonal. This makes it easy for them to offer fresh produce in their meals.
