Miuccia Prada

Prada is a designer name we hear in movies and songs all the time. But who is behind this big brand? Mario Prada started the leatherwear company, however, in 1978 his granddaughter took over the company turning it into one of the hottest modern fashion phenomena in the world. In 1992, she launched the very famous Miu Miu brand that had the world in awe. Miuccia has a Ph.D. in political science, which gives a complex, intellectual touch to her designs. 

Coco Chanel

The classic, revolutionary fashionista. French designer Gabrielle Bonheur “Coco” Chanel, founded an empire on the concept of simple fashion lines with staples that would last a lifetime. The little black dress, which I’m sure most of us heard of, was coined by Chanel to demonstrate that every woman can afford to be simple but chic. Although Chanel is known for designing the tweed jacket and pearl necklaces, the most iconic piece was the jersey fabric. She was the first fashion designer to use material reserved for underwear in her collection, creating freeing pieces for women. She also expressed her love for perfumes by creating the iconic Chanel No.5.

Donatella Francesca Versace an Italian fashion designer. The company was founded by her brother Gianni, however Donatella took over after his death, creating a luxurious empire with her eye-catching garments. Versace is known for its bold aesthetic and patterns. Donatella Versace presents her pieces emphasizing on the fierce nature of the brand. In the late 90s and early 00s, Versace became one of the most iconic fashion designers in the 21st century. She portrays self-confidence and self love through all her pieces each season. She values women’s freedom to be sexy in fashion. The iconic dress Zendaya was spotted wearing at the 2021 BET Awards inspired by Beyoncé was Versace.

Wang is known for her beautiful bridal dress designs that are mesmerizing to look at. She’s always had a passion for bridal wear, which she turned into a career a bit later in life. Her work is seen through many celebrity weddings, including Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande.

Carolina Herrera

Carolina Herrera is known for her elegant and sophisticated designs. She puts forth the idea of being effortlessly elegant to women all over the world. Herrera was represented in the Hall of Fame in 1980. She made her first appearance as a fashion designer at manhattan’s Metropolitan Club. Herrera is known for the iconic white button-down skirt. Her pieces are worn by many celebrities and public figures all over the country, like KJ Apa from Riverdale.
