Vegan Holiday’s: The Healthy Alternative

As you all know, the Holidays are upon us! Are you looking for healthier alternatives to try these holidays? Look no further! Whether it’s Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas or New Year’s, we are bringing you a list of our favorite vegan alternatives to change up your meals.

Appetizers

Kale and spinach dip

This dip consists of kale, spinach, garlic, vegan parmesan, and cashew cream. When it’s all mixed, just bake it and you’re ready to dig in!

Roasted red pepper tomato soup

For this soup, you’ll need two large bell peppers, tomato paste, dried dill, garlic powder, sea salt, black pepper, coconut sugar, coconut milk, water and red pepper flakes.

Tomato flatbread

This one is very simple! Grab some garlic, tahini, tomatoes, and then some pizza dough. Flatten the dough, spread out the good stuff and throw it into the oven. Now you’re ready to share!

Entrees

Sweet potato lasagna

For the lasagna you’ll need, of course, three large thin sliced sweet potatoes. The filling will require fresh basil, dried oregano, two medium lemons, vegan parmesan, sea salt, black pepper, extra firm tofu, extra virgin olive oil and lastly, nutritional yeast.

Gluten-free mac and cheese

Of course we have to mention the holiday/everyday classic! This version of mac ‘n’ cheese is a healthy alternative for all. The ingredients for this dish are roasted garlic, gluten-free penne, grapeseed oil, four cloves of minced garlic, arrowroot starch, unsweetened almond milk, nutritional yeast, sea salt, pepper and vegan parmesan.

Portobello mushrooms with avocado chimichurri

This dish is almost like a vegan steak. You’ll need 3 large portobello mushrooms, cumin, olive oil, black pepper, smoked paprika, 3 cloves of garlic, steak sauce, and balsamic vinegar. For the chimichurri you’ll need chopped parsley, garlic cloves, shallot, red pepper flakes, olive oil, lemon juice, avocado, salt and pepper.

Desserts

Peppermint drinking chocolate

If you’re looking for chocolate shots, you’ll need coconut milk, dark chocolate, peppermint extract and turbinado sugar.

Cranberry orange buns

You’ll need flour, dough, cranberry sauce, orange zest and sugar. These will give you the feel of an alternative and healthier cinnabon.

Apple cider cake

To end this celebration, grab some cornstarch, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, cardamom, apple cider, apple sauce, olive oil, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla bean paste and lastly add some apple slices in if you want to give it that extra apple kick.
