Q: What is the most challenging and rewarding part of being an independent artist? “The most challenging part of this journey is not knowing what will happen next. The most rewarding part of this journey is waking up knowing that I am one step closer to my goals because I’ve made it a reality instead of a dream.”
Q: What is one piece of advice you would share with your younger self? “Dear younger me… Don’t let life strangle you. It may seem hard but everything you’ve ever prayed for will happen. Stay focused. Don’t listen to those around you that don’t believe or understand your heart. You will soon get to a place that you’ve always dreamed of. Stay humble, keep praying and get ready! Life is going to throw fireballs, just keep seeking God and believing in miracles.”
Q: What is the most challenging and rewarding part of being an independent artist? “The most challenging part of this journey is not knowing what will happen next. Every day is a mystery and faith carries me daily. The most rewarding part of this journey is waking up knowing that I am one step closer to my goals because I’ve made it a reality instead of a dream. Also, making my family and friends proud is so humbling and endearing for me.”
Q: How do you stay grounded and connected to your purpose? “I always felt that I was put on a mission from God to do what I do. As early as age four I knew what I wanted to be. Without regard to money or fame, I loved acting. I feel like acting choose me, because I was too young to understand the perks or benefits. I just did it. That always has been my grounds for my authentic purpose.”
Q: Describe your process to stay motivated when you get no’s. “I tell myself that if I get a no, not to let it affect me because it was never my part anyway. Meaning that I didn’t have the role to begin with so why should I be upset about it. What God has for me no one can take away. It truly is the best method for me, in my position in this business.”
