Passion Project “We have always been inspired by the female mind and body. The woman is such a fascinating complex duality. The female mind can be so strong yet, the female body is so sensual and feminine. It comes in many shapes and sizes. SACHIKA is a female empowerment line. We just finished designing our latest collection launching in August, titled PAPILLON, which is the French translation for butterfly. We also partnered with WWE Champion Ariane Andrew and will launch our athleisure fitness line named FEELINES in the fall. Our line will marry fashion, fitness and performance.”
Q; Tell us what inspires you. “We have always been inspired by the female mind and body. The woman is such a fascinating complex duality. The female mind can be so strong yet, the female body is so sensual and feminine. It comes in many shapes and sizes. Our brand celebrates the woman in its whole; highlighting all her assets and her curves. We are proud women and, our goal is to unite as many women as possible, providing them with tools to empower them and to encourage them to pursue their dreams and aspirations no matter the circumstances. SACHIKA is a female empowerment line. We just finished designing our latest collection titled PAPILLON which is the French translation for butterfly. The collection will launch in August. We also partnered with WWE Champion Ariane Andrew and will launch our athleisure fitness line named FEELINES in the fall. We are highly into health, wellness and fitness and our line will marry fashion, fitness and performance.”
Q: You both are so multitalented, how do you describe yourselves? “Thank you so much. We think of ourselves as creative beings who love to explore, to try new things and take risks. We were raised in an artistic yet entrepreneurial family: our mother was a singer and our father was a chef; together they owned and operated restaurants. They both contributed to shaping our sense of business and craftsmanship.”
Q: Tell us about your background. “We have always embraced being different. Being twins and Vietnamese, we knew we had something unique about us and rather than trying to blend, we enjoyed standing out. It helped us also work harder in a sense because we had to create our own lane. There wasn’t any brand, any designers like us. We had to become mentally tough: beat the odds, leave our mark and make our family and community proud.”
Q: How do you walk in your power? “We focus each day on being better than the day before and we push ourselves to constantly do things that scare us because that is the only way we can constantly stay on our toes and keep growing. Never be complacent or never get too comfortable. Comfort is the enemy of success. Get comfortable being uncomfortable, always keep going and there aren’t any shortcuts: hardwork will pay off.”
Q: What is the summer fashion trend that you are most excited about? “Our fashion tip for women is to dress according to your body type and your style. Trends aren’t for everyone. One of our best sellers right now is our ISABELLE wrap dress. We definitely think this is one of those pieces that fits every woman, no matter the size and shape. It comes in both black and blush. We recommend that every woman should have at least that one wrap dress that is classy and flattering. It can be dressed up or down.”
